David Macaree

David Macaree was an English professor at UBC and co-authored several popular hiking guides with his wife, Mary Macaree. He was born in Scotland and served in the Royal Marines during World War II. He earned his Ph.D. from the University of Washington and taught at UBC, eventually becoming an Associate Professor Emeritus of English. He died in 1998.
