David C. Carpenter is a Canadian writer whose work often focuses on nature and Western Canada. He has authored numerous books of fiction and non-fiction, including novels, novellas, short stories, essays, and poetry. Carpenter has received critical acclaim and numerous awards for his writing, including the Saskatchewan Book Awards Book of the Year and the Kloppenburg Award for Literary Excellence. He has also been recognized with an honorary doctorate from the University of Saskatchewan.
