Deborah Lawrenson

Deborah Lawrenson is a British novelist and former journalist. Raised in various countries due to her parents' diplomatic service, she read English at Trinity College, Cambridge. She worked as a journalist for several national newspapers and magazines before establishing herself as a novelist. She is known for her atmospheric fiction, often set in Europe, and also co-authors the Penelope Kite mystery series under the pseudonym Serena Kent.
