Jules Feiffer was an American cartoonist, author, playwright, and screenwriter, widely recognized as one of the most influential figures in the comics medium. He was known for his satirical social and political commentary, often featuring sparely drawn, neurotic characters. Feiffer's career spanned over seven decades, during which he created more than 35 books, plays, and screenplays. He also illustrated children's books and wrote screenplays for films such as 'Carnal Knowledge' and 'Popeye'. His work received numerous accolades, including a Pulitzer Prize for editorial cartooning and an Academy Award for his animated short film 'Munro'.
