Gill McBarnet

Gill McBarnet is a children's book author and illustrator from Zimbabwe who has lived on Maui, Hawaii, for over 35 years. She began writing and illustrating children's books after the birth of her first child in 1982, drawing inspiration from her children, grandchildren, and the people, animals, and lifestyle of Hawaii. Her books often feature Hawaiian themes, wildlife, and culture, and many have become bestsellers in Hawaii. She co-owns a family business, Hawaiian Children's Books, with her daughter Tara.
