Justina Ireland

Justina Ireland is an American science fiction and fantasy author known for her young adult fiction. She is also a former editor-in-chief of FIYAH Literary Magazine. Ireland holds a BA in History and an MFA in Writing for Children and Young Adults, and is pursuing a PhD in English Literature. She previously served in the military as an Arabic linguistics expert and currently works for the U.S. Navy. Ireland is an advocate for diversity in YA literature and founded Writing in the Margins, an organization that mentors writers from marginalized groups. Her work often explores themes of race, class, power, and social justice, and she is recognized for creating strong female characters.
