
Faridah Àbíké-Íyímídé
Faridah Àbíké-Íyímídé is a British-Nigerian novelist, short-story writer, and columnist known for her young adult thrillers. Her debut novel, "Ace of Spades," was a "New York Times" bestseller and won the NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Literary Work – Youth/Teens. She is also the author of "Where Sleeping Girls Lie" and "Four Eids and a Funeral." Àbíké-Íyímídé's work often explores themes of institutional racism, identity, and queerness within the Black community. She holds an MA in Shakespeare Studies from King's College London and a BA in English Literature from the University of Aberdeen. She is openly queer and a Muslim.
