Akwaeke Emezi
Akwaeke Emezi is a Nigerian writer and visual artist known for their work across multiple genres, including literary fiction, speculative fiction, romance, and memoir. Born in Umuahia, Nigeria, in 1987, Emezi explores themes of identity, Igbo spirituality, gender, and the body. They are a non-binary and transgender author whose debut novel, Freshwater, received significant critical acclaim.
