S.J. Bennett is a British crime novelist and children's writer, born in Yorkshire in 1966. She grew up traveling the world as an army child. After a varied career, she published her first novel at age 42. She is known for her "Her Majesty the Queen Investigates" series, which features Queen Elizabeth II as a secret detective. Her books have been translated into over 20 languages and optioned for TV. Bennett holds a PhD in Modern Italian Literature from Cambridge University and has taught creative writing.
