Maria Isabel Sanchez Vegara
Maria Isabel Sánchez Vegara is a Spanish author and creative director, best known as the creator and author of the internationally best-selling children's biography series, "Little People, BIG DREAMS." Growing up in Barcelona in the 1970s, she was inspired by figures like the Spanish poet Gloria Fuertes, which sparked her own dream of becoming a writer. After working in advertising for over fifteen years, she self-published her first book in 2012. The "Little People, BIG DREAMS" series began in 2014 when she sought a birth present for her twin nieces and realized there was a lack of books about real-life heroines. The series has since become a global phenomenon, with over 15 million copies sold worldwide and translated into more than 40 languages, featuring over 100 titles. Sánchez Vegara also acts as the creative director for the series, collaborating with numerous illustrators to bring each story to life.
