Sayantani DasGupta is a physician, scholar, and New York Times bestselling author of Indian heritage. She is known for her critically acclaimed Kiranmala and the Kingdom Beyond series, which is inspired by Bengali folktales and string theory. DasGupta also writes the anticolonial Fire Queen series and the environmentally themed Secrets of the Sky series. She is a pediatrician by training and now teaches in the Master's Program in Narrative Medicine at Columbia University and the Graduate Program in Health Advocacy at Sarah Lawrence College. Her work often explores themes of narrative, health, race, social justice, and diaspora. She is a nationally recognized speaker on issues of gender, race, storytelling, and medical education.
