Roshani Chokshi is an award-winning American author known for her New York Times bestselling young adult and middle-grade fantasy novels that draw on world mythology and folklore. Her work often explores themes of identity, colonialism, and magic through multicultural lenses. She was born in St. Louis, Missouri, and grew up in Atlanta, Georgia. Her mother is Filipino and her father is Gujarati Indian, and she was raised in a Hindu household, often incorporating these influences into her writing. Chokshi attended Emory University and later law school before pursuing writing full-time. Her notable works include "The Star-Touched Queen" duology, "The Gilded Wolves" trilogy, and the "Aru Shah" series. Her books have been translated into over two dozen languages.
