Dayal Kaur Khalsa (born Marcia Schonfeld) was an American-born author and illustrator of children's books. She moved to Canada in 1970 and began her publishing career in the early 1980s. Despite a short career, she wrote and illustrated eight picture books, three of which were published posthumously. Her work is known for its vibrant colors, humor, and focus on themes like family love and childhood experiences. She passed away from breast cancer at the age of 46.
