Charlaine Harris

Charlaine Harris (born November 25, 1951) is an American bestselling author known for multiple mystery and urban-fantasy series, most notably The Southern Vampire Mysteries (the basis for HBO's True Blood). She has written the Sookie Stackhouse novels, the Aurora Teagarden series, the Lily Bard mysteries, and the Harper Connelly books, among other works. Harris was born in Tunica, Mississippi, studied at Rhodes College, and has published steadily since the 1980s.
