Jim Butcher (born October 26, 1971) is an American novelist best known for the contemporary urban fantasy series The Dresden Files, the epic fantasy Codex Alera, and the steampunk-leaning Cinder Spires. He began publishing in 2000 and lives in the Rocky Mountains region of Colorado.
