Luca Aquino
Luca Aquino is an Italian jazz trumpeter and flugelhornist known for his innovative proposals and unique trumpet sound. Born in Benevento, Italy, he was largely self-taught, beginning the trumpet at age nineteen. After earning a master's degree in economics, his passion for artists like Miles Davis and Chet Baker drew him back to music. He released his first album as a leader, "Sopra Le Nuvole," in 2007, followed by "Lunaria," which won the "Top Jazz" award. Aquino is recognized for his musical experimentation in unusual locations and his collaborations with international artists such as Sting, Manu Katché, and Lucio Dalla. He has also been involved in projects promoting UNESCO's heritage campaigns.
