Sherine Abdel Wahab
Sherine Sayed Mohamed Abdel Wahab, known professionally as Sherine, is an Egyptian singer, actress, TV host, and personality. Dubbed "The Voice of Egypt," she was also a judge on MBC's The Voice: Ahla Sawt. Born in Cairo, Egypt, she began singing in grade school and was discovered by her music teacher, who encouraged her parents to take her to the Cairo Opera House. There, she met conductor Selim Sehab, who invited her to join the Cairo Opera Children's Choir. By her teens, she was an adept solo performer and eventually caught the ear of producer Nasr Mahrous, who helped launch her pop career. Her debut album, a collaboration with Tamer Hosny in 2002, was a massive hit, selling over 20 million copies and establishing her as a superstar. Sherine has also had a successful acting career, starring in films and television series. She has received numerous awards and accolades throughout her career, including the Global Force Award at Billboard's 2024 Women in Music ceremony and Best Female Artist in North Africa at the AFRIMA Awards 2025.
