Malachy Gerard McCourt was an American-Irish actor, writer, and politician. Born in Brooklyn and raised in Limerick, Ireland, he appeared in films and soap operas. He wrote three memoirs detailing his life in Ireland and the United States. McCourt was also the Green Party candidate for governor of New York in 2006. He was the younger brother of author Frank McCourt.
