Kate Ellis is a British author of crime fiction, best known for her DI Wesley Peterson detective novels, which blend history with mystery. She also writes the Joe Plantagenet mysteries and the Albert Lincoln trilogy. Ellis's work often incorporates her keen interest in history and archaeology. She previously worked in teaching, marketing, and accountancy before becoming a full-time writer after winning the North West Playwrights Competition in 1990. Her novels are set in various locations in England, including Devon and North Yorkshire.
