M. A. Lawson
M.A. Lawson is the pen name for award-winning novelist Mike Lawson. He was raised in Pueblo, Colorado, and after earning a degree in engineering from Seattle University, he worked for the U.S. Navy as a nuclear engineer for about thirty years. His career included time in Washington D.C. and a significant period at a naval shipyard in Bremerton, Washington, where he managed organizations involved in overhauling nuclear-powered submarines, cruisers, and aircraft carriers. He ended his career as a senior executive for the Navy's nuclear power program. Lawson began writing as a hobby and found success with his first novel, 'The Inside Ring,' in 2004, leading to a two-book deal. He is known for the Joe DeMarco series and the Kay Hamilton series.
