James Oswald
James Oswald is a Scottish writer and farmer, known for his crime fiction and fantasy novels. He is the author of the Inspector McLean series and the Constance Fairchild series, as well as the epic fantasy series The Ballad of Sir Benfro (written as J. D. Oswald). Oswald initially self-published his work before being picked up by Penguin Books and later Wildfire. He runs a livestock farm in Fife, Scotland, where he raises Highland cattle and Romney sheep. His debut novel, "Natural Causes," was a Richard and Judy Book Club Summer Pick in 2013 and was shortlisted for several awards.
