Anne Mazer is an American author known for her numerous children's and young adult books. Born in 1953, she comes from a family of writers, with both her parents, Harry Mazer and Norma Fox Mazer, being novelists. Mazer studied art at Syracuse University and French literature at the Sorbonne in Paris, where she began her writing career. Her first published work was "Watch Me," followed by her first young adult novel, "Moose Street." She is widely recognized for "The Amazing Days of Abby Hayes" series, which comprises twenty-two books, as well as picture books like "The Salamander Room" and "The No-Nothings and Their Baby." Mazer has also co-authored "Spilling Ink: A Handbook for Young Writers" with Ellen Potter. Her works have received various accolades, including selections for Reading Rainbow and recognition from Booklist and the ALA.
