Jody Wilson-Raybould

Jody Wilson-Raybould is an Indigenous Canadian lawyer, author, and former politician. She served as the Minister of Justice and Attorney General of Canada from 2015 to 2019, becoming the first Indigenous person to hold this position. She was first elected as a Member of Parliament for Vancouver Granville in 2015 and later served as Minister of Veterans Affairs. After resigning from cabinet amid the SNC-Lavalin affair, she continued to serve as an independent MP. Wilson-Raybould is a descendant of the Musgamagw Tsawataineuk and Laich-Kwil-Tach peoples and is a member of the We Wai Kai Nation. She is the author of several books, including "Indian" in the Cabinet: Speaking Truth to Power and From Where I Stand: Rebuilding Indigenous Nations for a Stronger Canada.
