Charlotte Roche
Charlotte Roche is a British-born German television presenter, actress, singer, producer, and author, best known for her 2008 novel "Wetlands" (Feuchtgebiete). She was born in High Wycombe, England, and moved to Germany at the age of eight. Roche is bilingual in English and German. She began her career in media as a video jockey and presenter for the German music channel VIVA and VIVA Zwei in the late 1990s and early 2000s. Her novels often explore taboo subjects such as sexuality, cleanliness, and femininity, and are known for their provocative and semi-autobiographical nature. "Wetlands" became a bestseller and was later adapted into a film. In 2001, her three brothers died in a car crash on the way to her wedding. She has a daughter and is married to Martin Keß.
