Danny Schechter

Danny Schechter was an American television producer, independent filmmaker, blogger, and media critic, widely known as "The News Dissector." He was a prominent voice on issues such as apartheid, civil rights, economics, foreign policy, and media ethics. Schechter's career began in radio at WBCN-FM in Boston, where he earned his famous nickname. He later worked for CNN and ABC's 20/20, winning two Emmy awards. He co-founded the production company Globalvision, which produced programs like "South Africa Now." Schechter authored over 14 books, including "The More You Watch, The Less You Know," which critically examined the media landscape. He was also a close associate of Nelson Mandela, producing several films about him.
