Parnell Hall

Parnell Hall (October 31, 1944 – December 15, 2020) was an American mystery writer, known for his Stanley Hastings, Puzzle Lady, and Steve Winslow series. He also wrote the screenplay for the 1984 cult classic C.H.U.D. and co-authored the Teddy Fay novels with Stuart Woods. Hall was an Edgar, Shamus, and Lefty nominee and a Shamus Award winner. He also received a Lifetime Achievement award from Malice Domestic in 2019. Before becoming a writer, Hall had a varied career as an actor, screenwriter, and private investigator.
