Pam Muñoz Ryan
Pam Muñoz Ryan is an American author of children's and young adult literature, known for her multicultural themes and lyrical prose. She has written over forty books, including award-winning novels like "Esperanza Rising," "Echo," and "Becoming Naomi León." Her work often draws from her Mexican American heritage and explores themes of identity, family, and resilience. Ryan holds a bachelor's and master's degree from San Diego State University and previously worked as an early childhood teacher. She is a recipient of numerous awards, including a Newbery Honor, the Kirkus Prize, and the Pura Belpré Medal.
