Emmanuel Cooper
Emmanuel Cooper was a distinguished British studio potter, writer, teacher, editor, and LGBTQ+ activist. He was known for his work in ceramics, which is represented in many public and private collections worldwide. Cooper was also the founder and editor of Ceramic Review, a leading craft magazine, and a visiting professor at the Royal College of Art. He authored numerous books on ceramics, including biographies of prominent potters like Bernard Leach and Lucie Rie. Cooper was also an advocate for LGBTQ+ rights and wrote on the subject of gay art. He was awarded an OBE for his services to art in 2002.
