Marissa Moss is an American children's book author and illustrator, known for her "Amelia's Notebook" series. Her work often focuses on themes of history, identity, and the experiences of young people, frequently highlighting underrepresented heroic women. Moss began her career in picture books and later gained popularity for her journal-style narratives, which she pioneered in children's literature. She has authored over seventy books, including historical journals, middle-grade novels, and graphic memoirs. In addition to her writing and illustrating, Moss founded Creston Books, a small children's press.
