Christina Hammonds Reed is the author of "The Black Kids," a New York Times bestselling debut novel and coming-of-age story about a privileged Black teenager navigating the 1992 Los Angeles Riots. Her writing explores timely conversations surrounding race, gender, class, violence, and mental health. Reed holds an MFA from the University of Southern California's School of Cinematic Arts and has previously written for "The Santa Monica Review" and "One Teen Story." She is also the author of the adult novel "The Johnson Four."
