John Gwynne
John Gwynne is a British author of epic fantasy novels, known for his sweeping battles, rich worldbuilding, and memorable characters. His debut novel, Malice, won the David Gemmell Morningstar Award for Best Fantasy Debut in 2013. Gwynne's work is often inspired by Norse mythology and Viking history, drawing on his own experiences as a Viking reenactor. His novels are praised for their visceral combat, emotional depth, and immersive action. He is the author of The Faithful and the Fallen series, the Of Blood and Bone trilogy, and The Bloodsworn Saga. His latest work includes The Wolfheart Chronicles. Gwynne studied and lectured at Brighton University and has held various jobs, including playing double bass in a rock band and working in a soap factory. He is married with four children and lives in East Sussex.
