Linda A. Fairstein

Linda A. Fairstein (born May 5, 1947) is an American former prosecutor and bestselling author. She served for decades as head of the Sex Crimes Unit in the Manhattan District Attorney's Office before leaving the office in 2002 to write full time. Fairstein is best known for her Alexandra Cooper crime novels, which draw on her prosecutorial experience, and for nonfiction work on sexual violence and forensic issues. Her career as a prosecutor and later public controversies have been widely covered in the press.
