Andrew Gross (born 1952) was an American novelist best known for suspense and crime thrillers, including both solo novels and collaborations with James Patterson. His books — often featuring Detective Ty Hauck or emotionally driven domestic thrillers — were New York Times bestsellers and translated into numerous languages. Before becoming a full-time novelist he worked in the family apparel business and later held executive roles; he studied English at Middlebury College and completed graduate work at Columbia University. He died in 2025.
