Linda Fairstein
Linda Fairstein is an American author, attorney, and former New York City prosecutor who specialized in crimes of violence against women and children. She headed the sex crimes unit of the Manhattan District Attorney's office from 1976 to 2002. After leaving the DA's office, Fairstein began publishing mystery novels featuring Manhattan prosecutor Alexandra Cooper, many of which became bestsellers. Her career has been marked by controversy, particularly her role in the Central Park Five case, which led to her publisher dropping her and significant public backlash.
