Carol Anderson

Carol Anderson is the Charles Howard Candler Professor and Chair of African American Studies at Emory University. She is a historian whose research focuses on public policy with regard to race, justice, and equality. She is the author of several acclaimed books, including 'White Rage: The Unspoken Truth of Our Racial Divide,' which won the National Book Critics Circle Award and was a New York Times Bestseller. Her other notable works include 'Eyes Off the Prize: The United Nations and the African American Struggle for Human Rights, 1944-1955,' 'Bourgeois Radicals: The NAACP and the Struggle for Colonial Liberation, 1941-1960,' and 'One Person, No Vote: How Voter Suppression Is Destroying Our Democracy.' Anderson has received numerous fellowships and awards for her work and has been elected to the American Academy of Arts and Sciences and the American Philosophical Society.
