Ian Irvine (born 1950) is an Australian author and marine scientist best known for epic fantasy (the Three Worlds Cycle) and climate/eco-thrillers (the Human Rites Trilogy). He has published novels for adults and children, worked as an environmental consultant, and authored national guidelines on dredging. He lives in northern New South Wales and continues to write.
