Trudi Canavan (born 23 October 1969) is an Australian writer best known for her bestselling fantasy series including The Black Magician Trilogy, Age of the Five and the Millennium's Rule sequence. Before becoming a full-time author she worked as a graphic designer and art editor for genre magazines. Her work has won multiple Australian speculative fiction awards and has been widely translated.
