David Guterson

David Guterson (born May 4, 1956) is an American novelist, short story writer, poet, journalist, and essayist. He is best known for the bestselling novel Snow Falling on Cedars (1994), which won the PEN/Faulkner Award and was adapted as a major motion picture. His other books include East of the Mountains, Our Lady of the Forest, The Other, and Ed King. He has also published story collections, poetry, nonfiction, and a memoir, and lives on Bainbridge Island, Washington.
