Charles Frazier

Charles Frazier is an American novelist best known for his debut novel, Cold Mountain (1997), which won the National Book Award for Fiction and was a major bestseller. Born in Asheville, North Carolina, he grew up in the Appalachian region, which serves as a frequent setting for his work. Before becoming a full-time novelist, he worked as an academic and co-authored travel guides. His subsequent novels include Thirteen Moons, Nightwoods, Varina, and The Trackers.
