Jim Thompson

Jim Thompson (1906–1977) was an American novelist and short-story writer best known for his hardboiled crime fiction and noir psychological thrillers. His work frequently explored morally ambiguous characters and the darker aspects of human nature, often set against grim, small-town or urban backdrops. Notable novels include The Killer Inside Me, Pop. 1280, Savage Night, and The Getaway. Thompson's books influenced later noir writers and filmmakers and have been adapted for film several times.
