Tui T. Sutherland is an American children's book author, born on July 31, 1978, in Caracas, Venezuela. Named after a New Zealand bird, she lived in various countries before settling in New Jersey for high school. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature from Williams College and a Master of Arts in Art History. Sutherland began her career as an editor before transitioning to writing. She is best known for her "Wings of Fire" series, which has sold millions of copies worldwide. She has also written under pseudonyms such as Erin Hunter, Rob Kidd, Tamara Summers, and Heather Williams. Sutherland has also appeared on the game show Jeopardy!, winning $46,200. She currently resides in Massachusetts with her husband, two sons, and pets.
