Barrett Tillman

Barrett Tillman (born 1948) is an American author and aviation historian known for more than forty nonfiction books and several novels focusing on naval and aviation topics. He learned to fly as a teen, graduated from the University of Oregon with a journalism degree in 1971, and has written operational histories of U.S. Navy aircraft, Vietnam-era naval aviation, and military fiction. Tillman has served as a documentary commentator, magazine contributor, and publisher, and has received multiple awards for history and literature.
