Geraldine Brooks (born 14 September 1955) is an Australian-American journalist and novelist. A former foreign correspondent for The Wall Street Journal, she turned to fiction with internationally bestselling and critically acclaimed novels including Year of Wonders, March (which won the 2006 Pulitzer Prize for Fiction), People of the Book, Caleb's Crossing, and Horse. She has also published nonfiction including Nine Parts of Desire and Foreign Correspondence. Brooks divides her time between Australia and the United States.
