A. J. Hartley

Andrew James Hartley (born August 7, 1964) is a British‑born American novelist, dramatist and academic. He writes fiction for both adults and young adults (often under the byline A. J. Hartley for YA and Andrew Hart for some adult thrillers). Hartley is also a theatre director, dramaturg and a professor of Shakespeare at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. His work includes YA fantasy (Steeplejack), collaborative projects such as Sekret Machines (with Tom DeLonge), novelizations and adult mystery/thrillers. He has received several regional and genre awards and his books have been published in the US and UK.
