Kenneth Oppel

Kenneth Oppel (born August 31, 1967) is a Canadian author best known for children’s and young adult fiction, including the Silverwing series, the Matt Cruse/ Airborn novels, and The Nest. He has won numerous awards for his work, including the Governor General’s Literary Award for children’s literature and an American Library Association Printz Honor. Oppel studied cinema studies and English at the University of Toronto and has lived in several parts of Canada and the UK. He publishes widely for middle grade and YA audiences.
