Richelle Mead (born November 12, 1976) is an American bestselling author known for young adult and urban fantasy series including Vampire Academy and its spin-off Bloodlines, as well as the Georgina Kincaid and Dark Swan series. A former teacher, she holds degrees from the University of Michigan, Western Michigan University, and the University of Washington and lives in the Seattle area.
