Alan Alexander Milne was a British author, playwright, and poet, best known for his beloved children's books featuring Winnie-the-Pooh and his friends in the Hundred Acre Wood. Before achieving international fame with his children's literature, he was a successful playwright and a staff writer for the humor magazine Punch. He also served in both World Wars.
