Michael Bond
Thomas Michael Bond (13 January 1926 – 27 June 2017) was an English author best known as the creator of Paddington Bear. First published in 1958, the Paddington books became international classics, selling tens of millions of copies and spawning television series, films and extensive merchandising. Bond also wrote books for children including the Olga da Polga stories, as well as adult novels (notably the Monsieur Pamplemousse series). He continued to publish into his nineties and was honoured for his services to literature.
