Nick Bland is an Australian author and illustrator known for his popular children's books, particularly "The Very Cranky Bear" series. He was born in the Yarra Valley, Australia, in 1973. His father was an artist and his mother a primary school teacher, and he spent his early childhood on a farm. Bland always aspired to be a cartoonist and writer, and after working in a bookshop, he found his calling in illustrating and writing children's books. He currently lives in Darwin, Australia, where he works full-time as an author and illustrator. On weekends, he also works as a guardian for Aboriginal boys who board in Darwin. His award-winning creations have been published worldwide.
