Cynthia Harrod-Eagles (born 13 August 1948) is a British novelist best known for her long-running Morland Dynasty historical series and the Bill Slider detective novels. She has written historical fiction, romance and crime novels since the 1970s and won the Romantic Novelists' Association Novel of the Year Award in 1993 for Emily (part of the Kirov Saga). She studied English, history and philosophy at the University of Edinburgh and University College London and became a full-time writer after the success of the Morland series.
